Shy FX
Andre “Shy FX” Williams has quietly been one of the most influential British producers of the last 25 years. From his groundbreaking jungle anthem Original Nuttah (a tune that has as much impact now as it did when it first smashed into the charts in the early 90s), to his timely switch into dubstep, house and roots reggae in the 00s, to his behind-the-scenes production work for multi-million selling pop RnB acts, Shy’s ability to fuse soundsystem culture with electronic futurism and classic songwriting has defined the music of successive generations. Now he’s prepared to drop a new album that deftly steps between tempo and styles, encompassing lyrical hip hop, sweet soul, and bass heavy breakbeat, drawing together the many influences that have kept him at the forefront of dance music for over quarter of a century.

Derrick Carter
One of the pinnacles of Chicago house music's '90s wave, Derrick Carter began DJ’ing at the age of nine, spinning disco records at family reunions. Born and raised in the western suburbs, Carter was into music from a young age, but during his teens Chicago's house scene sucked him in for good. Before long Carter became a strong presence in the city's underground dance scene. "When I got my driver's license at 16 my sneak ability was validated," he laughs. "I was a fierce bedroom jock for a long time. After you mix for the love of it for six or seven years, you get it pretty tight and you can take it on the road." He got by working at dance-music specialty stores like Gramaphone and gigging at parties. Later he landed regular DJ stints at Shelter, Foxy's, and Smart Bar. Though he doesn't spin much locally anymore, when he does he attracts large crowds. Most of the time he works in Europe, where he's become a minor celebrity among dance-music aficionados : “Its hard not to laugh on the occaisions when you’ll make 20 times what you make in Chicago on a Saturday night, but back home there are also times when you just do it for fun… So many people come up to me and say ‘Man, I had the worst day, My girlfriend left me, I locked my keys in my car, but you turned it around for two hours, and that made me able to get up in the morning’ That’s the best thing going.” Derrick’s sets are rooted in house, but he freely travels outside club tastes, seamlessly incorporating old-school disco, soul, jazz and whatever catches his fancy. His debut single "Love Me Right" appeared in 1987, just after he graduated from college. Another single ("Symbols and Instruments" as Mood) appeared in 1989, but the Chicago house scene faded soon after, leaving Carter and other artists with few to play for except themselves. Thanks in part to Cajmere's and Felix Da Housecat's respective labels (Relief, Radikal Fear), Chicago house made a comeback during the mid-'90s and began to offer impressive newcomers in addition to the old guard. Carter, recording for the Organico label, returned with several singles, and an album as Sound Patrol. In 1995, he began working with a live band as the Sound Patrol Orchestra. Several mix albums have appeared, including Cosmic Disco on MixMag and Pagan Offering on Pagan. Carter has also founded two labels (Blue Cucaracha and Classic) and remixed tracks from Chicago's own post-rock heroes Tortoise. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide Since then pioneering, innovative tracks and consequent critical acclaim have repeatedly marked Derrick out as once of the most important players in Dance music. Carter says that due to his growing notoriety his production talents have been requested by pop-oriented acts. But he prefers to remain underground. Although enthused about his own Blue Cucaracha label and a new UK-based imprint he runs called Classic, he's reluctant to offer much explanation of either label's MO-other than each releases records when the mood strikes him: "I like to keep myself pretty invisible. You may think I'm somewhere, but I've already left."

Horse Meat Disco
Initially established in 2004 at The Eagle, an innocuous gay bar in London’s Vauxhall, Horse Meat Disco (HMD) has evolved into a powerful force in queer and club culture as a whole, while staying local to its original home, each and every Sunday. Co-founded by James Hillard and Jim Stanton, and encompassing residents Severino and Luke Howard, the crew continue to maintain not only the weekly Sunday party, but a number of residencies in cities across the world, alongside a kaleidoscope of club appearances, festival dates and specially curated mixes. Taking inspiration from a diverse, counter-cultural history of clubs and DJs, as well as from the sprawling, ever-expanding musical collections of its resident crew, the sound of HMD is impossible to place. Nonetheless their style is undeniable, as is a popper-scented air of sheer authenticity which has helped propel the group to international fame. Rooted in hedonism, rhythm, freedom and emotion, a Horse Meat Disco set reinforces everything invigorating about disco, as comfortable as shattering old-school mirror ball cliches as basking in their light. A typical HMD set blends classics, italo disco, house, oddities and punk funk, to conjure their initial spirit of “a queer party for everyone”, including, but not limited to, “Homos and Heteros, club kids, bears, fashionistas, naturists, guerilla drag queens and ladies who munch.” They have made appearances on every notable club scene in the modern world, as well as those beyond, and have long been a key fixture at festivals including Glastonbury, Boomtown and Love International. They previously held a weekly residency on Rinse FM; where the Horse Meat Disco train rolled across the airwaves to serve as a pre- and post-club Sunday lunch accompaniment. A series of expertly curated and acclaimed compilations for reissue label Strut helped further cement HMD’s formidable but communal reputation as disco masterminds, spreading their sound and many enviable obscurities into front rooms and record bags across the world. Their 2020 album “Love and Dancing” marked their first full-length studio release, featuring a mix of original tracks and collaborations which received widespread acclaim for capturing the true essence of disco, whilst also pushing its boundaries. The album was the culmination of seven years’ work, fashioned from demoes the four had been working on simply for the love of making music. Free of cover versions and lazy samples, it is documentary evidence that disco has a present and future every bit the platinum-grade equal of its storied past. After decades of crate digging, globetrotting and partying; the HMD story continues apace. With brand new original music on the skyline as well as a brand new compilation coming in 2025 – watch out as HMD have no intention of slowing down with their release schedule…

Dr Banana
Record connoisseur, label boss, and sleight-of-hand specialist – Dr. B promises a rabbit-hole record bag, labrador-like energy, and a light-hearted, left-field approach to the dance. Dr.B’s roots are in UKG, growing a globally-recognised label slinging out toasty cuts from new producers and re-issues from the golden era, but this is just a slither of the London-born DJ’s eclectic collection. You only need to flick through his recent bumper to bumpers to see how far and wide he can go. Whether it’s meaty chunks of electro, techno, and minimal with Evan Baggs, cross-genre party starters alongside Bradley Zero, straight shellers with Interplanetary Criminal, or just throwing it down alone, he’ll bring a bag of belters whatever the weather, wherever the crowd. After establishing himself as one of the UK’s most in-demand selectors, the London-born DJ has taken operations worldwide. From the floating intimacy of Berlin’s Hoppetosse to the sheer scale of Glastonbury, Fabric’s brutal brickwork to the iconic caverns of Kiev’s Art Club Closer and Mkvtvarse in Georgia – local, national, and global venues are the workshops for Dr. B’s versatile trotters. If he’s not getting his stirling’s worth out of a treasured travel pillow, playing venues and festivals across the UK and beyond, you’ll find him shooting three-pointers, digging into next week, or kickin’ it in front of the box with a moderately-priced pho.

Don Letts
Don Letts' reputation has been firmly established in both the film and music world, by a substantial body of work, from the late 70's through the 80's, 90's and well into the millennium. His work has been exhibited in The Kitchen N.Y.C, The Institute of Contemporary Art, The N.F.T in London and was honoured at Brooklyn's BAM festival. In March 2003 he won a Grammy for his documentary 'Westway To The World'. He came to notoriety in the late 70's as the DJ that single handedly turned a whole generation of punks onto reggae. It was whilst DJing at the first punk club 'The Roxy' in 1977, that Don adopted the punk D.I.Y ethic and began to make his first film 'The Punk Rock Movie'. Shot on Super-8mm, it is the only documentary on the U.K punk scene; featuring The Sex Pistols, The Clash and many others. This led to a period directing over 300 music videos for a diverse range of artists, including Bob Marley, Elvis Costello and Beenie Man. From the days of Punk Rock to the present, he has always been drawn towards musical projects. He created the band Basement Five, released a single with members of John Lydon's P.I.L, managed The Slits and collaborated with members of Trouble Funk. In the mid 80's he formed the group 'Big Audio Dynamite' with Mick Jones (ex-Clash). He went on to perform and co-write four albums with B.A.D, achieving several hits on both sides of the Atlantic including the top ten hit E=Mc2. In the early 90's Don left B.A.D to form Screaming Target, their debut performance at The Transmusical Festival in France received rave reviews. They released one critically acclaimed album 'Hometown Hi-Fi'. As the 'Dub Cartel Sound System' he has performed DJ sets for The Rough Trade 25th Anniversary, Jarvis Cocker's Desperate Sound System, Trojan, Lee Perry's Meltdown, Glastonbury 2003/4 and Stussy's 25th anniversary. In March 2007, he released his autobiography in hardback: 'Culture Clash: Dread Meets Punk Rockers'.

Webmoms
Webmoms is the brainchild of UK-based multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter Karum Cooper. It’s a project rich in influences across the musical spectrum with several millions of streams across Spotify and Apple Music alone, a slew of BBC Introducing, R6, R1 and R1Xtra plays and production credits on tracks around the globe, to boot. Starting out as an instrumental beatmaking alias in 2020, this bedroom project has grown from strength to strength- with 2024’s EP ‘For Us By Us’ marking the artists first fully vocal release (all previous EPs have been smattered with an even share of instrumental beats and vocal tracks). The EP, with its nuanced and original take on Lofi-Hip Hop, RnB and Neo soul, delves further into the realms of conscious, politically driven poetry and lyricism, straying away from a beat-centric production style and incorporating some seriously strong vocal hooks and a peppering of artist features. The EP gained attention yet again from tastemaker press (Earmilk, Plastic Magazine), Spotify Editorials, BBC networks (Radio 1Xtra, Radio6) and was supported by a 7 date UK tour in support of Brighton Future soul outfit ‘YAKUL’

Shy One
Mali Larrington-Nelson AKA Shy One lives and breathes the eclecticism and diversity of her DJ sets and productions. Having started off DJing on pirate radio as a teenager, Shy One has been exposed to and influenced by the full spectrum of sounds her hometown of London has birthed and nurtured over the years. As with many young Londoners at the time, grime and the wider family of indigenous London club music was what gave Shy One the passion to pursue music as more than a pastime. Obsessively collecting white labels by some of her local production heroes quickly developed into obsessively making beats in Fruity Loops for a handful of local MCs bubbling up in Harrow, the North West London borough she grew up in. Undeterred by those in the scene who called her beats “weird” or “different”, Shy One ploughed on carving out her own sound which eventually caught the ear of Scratcha DVA, who went on to release the Decaffeinated Love EP and her debut LP, Bedknobs and Boomkicks, on his now renowned DVA Music imprint. Since her initial releases with Scratcha, Shy One has continued to grow as an artist and diversify further into a somewhat undefinable sound that’s origins are undoubtedly London but take in a huge variety of musical cultures, from hip-hop and jazz to house music and West London’s own brokenbeat movement – all of which are well represented on her various radio shows on stations like Balamii and NTS and her BBC Radio 1 Residency, which took place at the end of 2022. As well as DJing in clubs and on the radio, Shy One has been busy releasing music more recently on labels like Rhythm Section, Astral Black, Beats In Space, and Apron Records while also delivering a string of remixes for the likes of Nubya Garcia, Oscar Jerome, and Bella Boo. 2022 saw the release of two critically acclaimed projects on Eglo Records: IP Addy; a vinyl-only 7” consisting of two crunchy, left-leaning techno workouts and From The Floor To The Booth; a five-track EP that masterfully exemplifies the breadth and scope of Shy One’s unique and soulful production prowess. The release accompanied Shy One’s busiest and most prestigious booking schedule to date, with two rapturous appearances at Panorama Bar, widely celebrated sets at summer festivals like GALA, Nuits Sonores, and Glastonbury as well as her first tour of Australia and New Zealand. 2023 has seen Shy One grace the cover of Crack Magazine, as well as an appearance in British Vogue and a sterling contribution to the RA podcast mix series plus a busier and more exciting gig schedule than ever. Over the past few years Shy One has branched out even further to collaborate with artist Victoria Sin on A View From Elsewhere, a multimedia fantasy on the experience of desire, shame and identification of the material queer body, culminating in a sold out performance at London’s Café Oto. Both artists have teamed up again for The Sky Is An Image, An Image Is A Net, which was performed as part of The Serpentine Pavilion’s Park Nights series in July 2018. With a more hectic schedule than ever and a variety of exciting new music lined up for release, Shy One’s trajectory looks set to steepen and accelerate further, as a growing audience recognise her as one of the most talented and unique DJs and producers in the capital at the moment.

Anna Erhard
Humour in music, it can be a delicate balance. Luckily, Anna Erhard perfectly understands how a good song can be funny, and vice versa. Yet what really makes her stand out, is that she can leave behind the hilarities to suddenly evoke some very deep emotions, with an earnestness you wouldn’t expect while listening to the rest of her music. The Swiss-born, Berlin-based artist used to be a part of folk band Serafyn, but now creates her enjoyable brand of indie pop together with Pola Roy (formerly of Wir Sind Helden), with the duo sounding like Wet Leg and Fiona Apple had a rather subdued lovechild. Anna Erhard’s second album ‘Campsite’ is an intimate affair, as if we’re reading along in her diary. A unique look into the soul of a very creative spirit.

The band returned in later 2024 with latest single ‘Polystyrene Irene’, which expands on their exploration into Psych and Garage Rock, and carries through their DIY ethos, “Polystyrene Irene showcases another string to Dreamwave’s bow as a band obsessed with neo-psychedelia and all its permutations – be it breakneck psych-punk, luxurious dream-pop or relentless motorik” (God is in the TV). New single ‘Wideshooter’ (released 24.01.25) channels long time heroes Devo and the B52’s, the track leans into Punk and New Wave, but still retains the mischievous Psychedelic underbelly present in all prior releases.

Born and bred in London, before moving to Somerset, Gallegos is a true underground gem on the rise. Music was in his veins from day one, with the trumpet and drums becoming his early companions.
